Summer barbecues, outdoor shenanigans and yard games are the recipe for a great summer. Get ready for this summer season with a few of our favorite yard games!
Mölkky
Mölkky is a Finnish backyard throwing game for the whole family!
The game involves throwing a wooden skittle (dowel) at other wooden dowels with various points written on them.
The object of the game is to be the first person to reach a certain score.
As you hit the wooden point dowels, they will start to spread across the yard, with the higher point dowels getting further and further away as people keep hitting them.

Beersbee (Frisbeer)
Beersbee or Frisbeer is a great backyard game that involves accuracy, speed and…drinking.
This two-on-two competitive game involves attempting to knock a bottle off the top of a post by throwing a frisbee. If the opposite team hits your bottle, you have to try and catch the bottle before it hits the ground.
Typically, you have to “hold your beer” while playing this game, and penalties accrue if you spill while trying to catch the bottle or the frisbee.

Kan Jam

Each post has a different point associated with it and the game is won by scoring more points than your opponent.
Kubb
Kubb, or “Viking Chess” is a popular Swedish backyard game involving strategy, accuracy and finesse!
The object of Kubb is to knock over particular wooden blocks with the throwing baton before your competitor. Kubb is best described as a combination of bowling and horseshoes.
